Unclean Offices contribute to sick days and loss of productivity. Are unclean and unsanitary offices making people sick?
Consumer research in the US confirms that people's perception of an unclean office contributes to sick days. An astounding array of untidy behaviours, coupled with concerns about how effectively buildings are cleaned, contribute to the belief that such conditions spark sick days and lower productivity.
Research highlights:
85% of workers think regularly about the cleanliness of their office Only 40% of workers have confidence in their building's cleaning system 78% of workers say they get sick each year from their co-workers (1.4 colds per year from co-workers) 69% believe a clean office makes workers more productive The survey of 1,000 US office workers found that a startling 64% see a connection between a clean building and the number of times an employee calls in sick. |
